Kindergarten

The Kindergarten is a part of DePaul’s Early Childhood Department. The focus of the Kindergarten program is to engage the whole child in a learning environment that fosters academic readiness skills and provide a foundation for future learning.

During the kindergarten year, children are immersed in a print rich environment that establishes a strong foundation in literacy.  Each child’s individual language goals continue to be addressed through theme based activities and differentiated instruction.   Children are engaged in discovery learning in the kindergarten centers room where they have opportunities to play in areas focused on science, writing, literacy, listening, math, and dramatic play.

·         Each child receives individual speech therapy 3 to 5 times a week.

·         Large group experiences include art, music and movement, and gym.

·         Children enrich their learning of basic concepts through engaging technology.
