Preschool

As part of DePaul’s Early Childhood Department, DePaul’s preschool includes children between the ages of 3 and 5 may attend a full-day program five days a week.

The goal of the preschool program is to develop the oral language skills, identified in the individual education plan of each child.   This goal is achieved through a balanced curriculum which provides intensive language instruction and age appropriate experiences where young children practice and develop new skills through meaningful play.  Quality children’s literature is integrated into the curriculum to enhance early literacy skills and vocabulary development.

·         Each child receives individual speech therapy 3 to 5 times a week.

·         Large group experiences include music and movement, and a variety of circle time activities.

·         Children enrich their learning of concepts such as colors, shapes, and letter recognition through engaging technology.
